How to Switch Weapon Fire Modes in Battlefield V
Easily switch modes in combat with these tips.
Learn about weapon fire modes and how to switch between them in this Battlefield™ V video from BFNation.
Several weapons in Battlefield™ V give you the option to switch between two firing modes: single-shot and fully-automatic. Single-shot is fairly self-explanatory: every time you pull the trigger you’ll fire one bullet. Fully-automatic will allow you to continue firing bullets for as long as you hold down the trigger (or until you run out of ammo).
To toggle between the two modes use the following:
PC – V key
Xbox One – Y button
PlayStation®4 – Triangle button
You can re-bind the “switch fire mode” key/button if you wish to make it more accessible in a firefight.
Generally speaking, newer players will want to use fully-automatic as the default because it gives them a better chance to react quickly to immediate (and close) threats. Of course, you will lose accuracy and burn through a great deal of ammo quickly. But in close-quarters combat, the benefits will outweigh the drawbacks. For mid to long-range targets, however, single-shot is definitely the preferred choice.
