Madden NFL 21 - Derwin James vs. The World - Week 7

This week’s show featured what was basically a fantasy league-winning roster. Between Tyreek Hill, CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy, and Derwin James for some IDP love, I’m not sure how you wouldn’t win.

This weeks’ stream was filled with NFL star-studded Madden 21 action. Let’s get to it.

As we know by now, these two have met in Madden 20. It did not go well for Tyreek.

But the Kansas City Chiefs receiver came out to send a message. He opened playing conservative. Short dump offs and some quality running. Derwin has been annihilating the competition when his opponents look to pass deep, so Tyreek was looking to take away Derwin’s defensive scoring potential.

But as usual, Derwin struck first. It was actually a low scoring affair until Derwin dropped a dot in the final seconds of the third quarter.

Derwin has proven to be extremely successful with the lead. Tyreek was down 21-0, and was forced to attempt some deep passes. Derwin is right at home defending deep passes. He’s been picking them off at will all season. Ultimately, that spelled the end for Tyreek’s revenge game.

Tyreek gave praise to Derwin’s use of Dan “Dotta” Marino. GGs in the chat. The Derwin domination train continues rolling.

Jerry Jeudy vs. CeeDee Lamb

Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy is coming off a commanding performance in which he  eliminated his former Alabama teammate Henry Ruggs III. He looked to carry that momentum into the final game. The matchup, Jeudy takes on Dallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb. The winner is named the official Madden 21 King of the Hill for the NFL Rookies bracket.

Jeudy opened things up with a dominant drive, slowly and methodically marching downfield. Things seemed to be going his way again early, until Lamb came away with a clutch interception in the endzone.

Jeudy would later strike first with the game’s first offensive TD. Lamb would make another defensive stand later with a pick six, but a missed extra point would leave Jeudy with a 7-6 lead at halftime. Which was a welcomed break from the CONSTANT stream of Xbox Party invites Jeudy and Lamb were receiving. Thanks for that Madden community. Good laugh.

Lamb’s defense continued to impress, coming away with the season’s first safety. He would attempt another field goal, and missed it. But his defensive stance continued, with another pick six on the next drive and a converted two-point conversion. Because, why kick it when you can’t make it, you know?

Either way, that was enough. CeeDee Lamb takes it 22-7 and has full Madden 21 bragging rights among NFL rookies.
